Music is a core part of the church's life. Our main choir leads the singing every Sunday morning, and at other special services over Christmas and Easter. Young Voices, a new choir for young people aged 7-13, is auditioning for members on September 17th-18th 2011. We also have a series of monthly concerts, which has now been running for five years. Read on to find out more!

Over the past ten years, the main choir has grown in number and musical strength; we learn and perform new pieces every few weeks. Our repertoire is wide-ranging, spanning English Tudor composers, baroque Italian music, and modern arrangements of African-American spirituals. We are a happy group who socialise together regularly at choir meals and parties. New members aged 13 or over are welcome at any time. We rehearse every Tuesday evening from 7pm-8pm, and sing the 11am Mass on a Sunday, with a short rehearsal at 10.30am. Sound good? If you're interested in joining, please contact our musical director Andrew Wilshere on 0757 6644325, or by email at music@holytrinityblackley.org.uk.
Holy Trinity Young Voices is a new choir for youngsters aged 7-13.
We're holding an Open Weekend on September 17th-18th 2011. On the Saturday, there will be a meet and greet event for children, parents and family. This will be followed by a tour of the church, and a session of one-to-one auditions to be members of Young Voices. On the Sunday, there will be a short choir concert in the afternoon, followed by refreshments, when you'll be able to chat to members of the choirs. Find out more >
Since 2006, Holy Trinity has run a series of monthly music recitals called Music in the Church. Admission to all events is free. The concerts have attracted performances from professional pianists, singers, organists, choirs, and instrumental ensembles. Click below to find out more:

The church's organ was originally built in 1919 by Manchester organ builder W.E. Richardson, as a memorial to those who lost their lives in the first World War. It was refurbished ten years ago by the Chester organ builders Robert Edwards & Co., who continue to service the instrument regularly.
